Koran abuse draws hate-crime charge!

I know that the man does admit that he was angry with the Muslims at this college, but I believe that most crimes are "hate" crimes.

v. hat·ed, hat·ing, hates
v.tr.
1.
a. To feel hostility or animosity toward.
b. To detest.
2. To feel dislike or distaste for: hates washing dishes.
v.intr.
To feel hatred.
n.
1. Intense animosity or dislike; hatred.
2. An object of detestation or hatred: My pet hate is tardiness.

Murder, stealing, vandalism, and many other crimes are all "Hate" crimes. I hate how they are trying to make "hate" crimes as anything against gays, muslims, and other groups.

I have to say that I'm not the least bit shocked. If you ever been there, you know it's the best. I'm glad that Millenium Force held on to the best steel coaster.

Baseball team sees Vick scandal as a promotional hit!

What a great idea. You can get into the game for free with a vick jersey, hat, etc. You can bring your dogs, and use the vick items to clean up after your dog. I love that idea. I hope the Intimadators do that. Pixy and Dietrich would have a great time.

Skip Prosser Died Yesterday!

I know I was in shock when I heard about his passing yesterday. I know that we need to remember his family and team during this time. I'm not sure which is more devasting (Tammy Faye, where you know it was only a matter of time when Cancer would take her, or Skip, where you have no warning or chance to say goodbye, for now).

Grim reapurr: The cat that can predict death!

What an interesting story. I don't think I would let this cat curl up on my lap. When the cat "predicts" a death, the nursing home calls in the family. Wow. I wonder if this cat once belonged to Dr Kevorkian in one of it's nine lives.

Wow, it seems that we are going to have to grow and produce our own food. It was dog and cat food, then stuff imported from China, and now a plant in Georgia. I hope that Al Qaida doesn't get into Kraft Mac/Cheese, Mueller's Spaghetti, Lucky Charms, Pop Tarts, or many of my favorite food items.

Day Trip

Kristy and I went up to the Boone/Blowing Rock/Parkway today. The mountains are beautiful and it always remind me of God's Creation. He has given us a beautiful earth to live on and enjoy. We are truly blessed here in North Carolina with both Mountains and Beaches in our state.

The photos on this page are from Beacon Heights. It is a site off the Blue Ridge Parkway and US 221. It is basically across the parkway from Grandfather Mountain's Swinging Bridge and tourist site.

It is not a long walk from the parking lot. It took about 15 minutes to walk to Beacon Heights. It is a beautiful spot where you feel as if you are on "top of the world" or "king of the world". When you get through hiking up the trail, you come on this flat rock at the top.

We spent almost 2 hours up on the Mountain. The weather was great. It was in the 70's with a breeze. I enjoyed listening to my Ipod and reading some of the book "Next" by Michael Crichton.

Kristy used her time to read the Harry Potter book.

The mountains are a beautiful gift for us to enjoy and see God's handiwork.

After leaving Beacon Heights, we went into the town of Blowing Rock. I had two main objectives, to get some Kilwin's Ice Cream and to find something "DUKE" for Addison, my new great niece. I was able to find something for Addison, but Kilwin's was lined up to the front door. I was not willing to wait that long and I had a Frosty from Wendy's early that day.

I would like to let those who love Mexican Restaurants to NOT eat at Tijuana's in Blowing Rock. It was the worse Mexican that I've ever eaten, and it was a few $$$ more expensive than El Amigo and Los Arcos. I guess the first warning sign should have been that we did not see one Mexican working there. The place did not give complementary chips, but wanted me to pay for them. Can You believe that!!! I got the ACP (which I love at El Amigo's) and it was not close to theirs. The rice was a bright yellow and the sauce for the chicken was not good. I do not usually complain about restaurants, but please avoid that restaurant if you are in Blowing Rock.

Tammy Faye dies at age 65

I know that Jim and Tammy Bakker brought out opposing opinions, but I do remember watching PTL years ago. The show was like a Christian Variety Show (sort of like the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson). They had a lot of singing and guests. They were very popular and built PTL USA down in Fort Mill, SC. It was a very popular place in the 80's.

I did not see the interview on Larry King Thursday, but I did see photos of her from the interview. It was sad to see how cancer had destroyed her body but from what I heard, her spirit was still strong. It's the great thing for believers that while our bodies will decay and pass away, but our soul will live forever with Jesus.

I know that she is rejoicing in heaven with all the saints.

Eating beef ' is less green than driving'

I love this stuff. Is it just me, or are those on the Global Warming side CRAZY!!! I guess this could help keep gas prices in check, and we can now drive our SUV's guilt free. I think that we are also giving too many scientific grants for these mad scientist to come up with this stuff. It seems that money should go for fighting cancer and other deadly diseases.

Live Earth Makes Going Green Global.

I am always amazed how people believe a group of musicians can really make a big difference with a concert. I remember the Live Aid, Farm Aid, and many other types of "Aid" concerts and the very limited impact that they had on the cause they were supporting.

Oh NO!!!

I have some very bad news to report. I went with my dad and nephew Drake to the Legends Race and Fireworks on Tuesday. While at the race, I wanted to check on a few things on my blackberry. I was shocked when the it would not work, and I was afraid that Sun Pet did not pay their phone bill (blackberry is for work). I got to Atlanta on Wednesday (yes, i had to work on Independence Day) and I learned that Sun Pet is switching to a regular, LG sprint phone (ahhhhggghahghaghahgha). I can not believe this, and they did not ask my opinion before they decided to do this. Can you Believe that.

Splitting Hairs, Edwards's Stylist Tells His Side of Story - washingtonpost.com

Cute Story

> Billy Graham was returning to Charlotte after a speaking engagement and when his plane arrived there was a limousine there to transport him to his home. As he prepared to get into the limo, he stopped and spoke to the driver.

"You know" he said,
"I am 87 years old and I have never driven a limousine. Would you mind if I
drove it for a while?"

The driver said,
"No problem Have at it."

Billy gets into the driver's seat and they head off down the highway. A short distance away sat a rookie State Trooper operating his first speed trap.

The long black limo went by him doing 70 in a 55 mph zone.

The trooper pulled out and easily caught the limo and he got out of his patrol car to begin the procedure. The young trooper walked up to the driver's door and when the glass was rolled down, he was surprised to see who was driving.

He immediately excused himself and went back to his car and called his supervisor.

He told the supervisor, "I know we are supposed to enforce the law... But I also know that important people are given certain courtesies. I need to know what I should do because I have stopped a very important person."

The supervisor asked,
"Is it the governor?"

The young trooper said,
"No, he's more important than that."

The supervisor said,
"Oh, so it's the president."

The young trooper said,
"No, he's even more important than that."

The supervisor finally asked, "Well then, who is it?"

The young trooper said,

"I think it's Jesus, because he's got Billy Graham
for a chauffeur!"

An Atheist and the Bear

An atheist was taking a walk through the woods, admiring all that evolution had created.

"What majestic trees! What powerful rivers! What beautiful animals!", he said to himself. As he was walking along the river, he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him. When he turned to see what the casue was, he saw a 7-foot grizzly charging right towards him. He ran as fast as he could. He looked over his shoulder and saw that the bear was closing, He ran even faster, crying in fear. He looked over his shoulder again, and the bear was even closer. His heart was pounding and he tried to run even faster. He tripped and fell on the ground. He rolled over to pick himself up, but saw the bear right on top of him, reaching for him with his left paw and raising his right paw to strike him.

At that moment, the Atheist cried out "Oh my God!...." Time stopped. The bear froze. The forest was silent. Even the river stopped moving.

As a bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky, "You deny my existence for all of these years; teach others I don''t exist; and even credit creation to a cosmic accident. Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament? Am I to count you as a believer?"

The atheist looked directly into the light "It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask You to treat me as Christian now, but perhaps could you make the bear a Christian?" "Very well," said the voice.

The light went out. The river ran again. And the sounds of the forest resumed.

And then the bear dropped his right paw ..... brought both paws together...bowed his head and spoke: "Lord, for this food which I am about to receive, I am truly thankful."
